Taking A Day Off

WHY the Umbrella at the Beach? It is a reminder of those 2 trips a year to Myrtle Beach SC where my Dad would take us and just enjoy sitting at the beach with his feet buried in the sand while sitting under a umbrella.

It also the reason the book cover is a guy with a white t-shirt looking out over the water for my Dad always wore a white t-shirt at the ocean and when Leader’s Press created that cover it just seemed like divine intervention for I had not even shared that detail with them at the time.

As I noted in this chapter, I realize now that this “taking a day off” must have been when my Dad “dreamed” about the future and next steps.

Recognize that the 10 Life Lessons are to be “combined” – This happened recently on a trip back to my Dad’s Favorite place “Myrtle Beach” SC. I had shared this in a Facebook “reel” where I had decided to go to the Local Starbucks but having to use Public Transportation for I had no rental vehicle.

I found myself anxious for I had not used this before in Myrtle Beach but have many times in Japan, Washington DC and New York. It led me to combining “Putting My Mind to It” (by studying the maps and schedule of the bus system) and “Never Give Up” (for I had missed the first bus by misinterpreting the schedule).

Result – I not only made it to Starbucks but also enjoyed getting postcard stamps to send postcards to my Grandsons and seeing many of favorite sites on the journey including “Mammy’s Kitchen”. GREAT DAY!
